1. Overview
Our Musicology program is a nationally recognized undergraduate major. This four-year program emphasizes teacher education and confers a Bachelor of Arts degree upon completion. It has been selected for the Ministry of Education’s pilot reform, which exempts teacher education students from the national qualification exams for primary and secondary school teaching. Upon successful completion of the university’s teaching ability assessment, students are eligible to receive the Certificate of Qualification for Teacher Education Students, which is equivalent to passing the national teacher qualification exams, allowing them to directly apply for teacher certification.
2. Program Objectives
This major aims to cultivate professionals with strong expertise, exceptional technical skills, diverse career pathways, and long-term growth potential to meet the evolving demands of society and music education. Through a well-structured and comprehensive curriculum, students will gain a foundational understanding of Marxist theory, while mastering contemporary music education principles, teaching methodologies, and instructional strategies. Graduates will possess a solid grasp of music theory and performance, along with practical skills in education management, research, and pedagogical techniques.
